The project is to build a bungalow near the existing house, move into it, and then elevate, remodel and attach the existing structure to the new. This is as a result of flooding caused by Hurricane Isabelle.
We had about 4 inches of water in the house (which was about 4 ft in the garage). The requirement is for the finished floor to be at or above 9 ft above mean high water. The top of the cinderblcks is at 8 ft 10 inches, so the floor will be well above that mark. The old house has a floor height of 7 ft 8 inches.
We will have a nice view of the river from the second floor, so we are putting a deck on top of the carport, with doors from the second floor.
It has begun. Elevation certificate received. Subfloor is next.

View from the north-west, house to the right, new building in the middle, carport to the left. The shed to the far left will be coming down.
