our bedroom

our bedroom facing east

facing south

upstairs facing south

was going to be my studio but I would rather have it for living space and would rather have a more secluded studio area

French Doors out to the river facing upstairs deck

me looking out the window onto the deck...where I might add I spent nearly 3 hours locked out on during Tropical Storm Ernesto when I went out to clear debris from the drain and the door closed behind me (locked) windows (locked) it was very interesting...standing out there during the storm waiting for Doug to get home and hoping he would make it before the road flooded..he did...just barely...and we barely had time to move the car and his new truck up to higher ground when the areas they were parked in flooded.

Doug did a great job of designing this addition to our home and we look forward to moving in soon so we can begin to redo the "other" house...this upstairs room is quite large and will be used as a living area and as an extra bedroom while the "other house" is being renovated. There is a small bathroom upstairs and as you can see a lot of light and air...and a beautiful view toward the river...

March 10

The overhangs are mostly completed. The extra thickness has it starting to look like a real house.

We are really excited about the house in general, but especially the second-story deck.

March 9

It was dark when I got home, so the pictures are not the best. They got started working on the eaves. Most of the cornice work is done. The gable overhangs have just been started.

March 8

Last of the roof sheathing going up.

March 7

No work yesterday. Today had more of the roof sheathing going up. The south side is completely covered, along with the roof surrounding the deck.
